And the best named project goes to…
Early in my career, a Team Lead working closely with my on several network & infrastructure projects would say how the best project he ever worked on was called “Blackhawk Down”. There was no reason for this and, paradoxically it was a terribly plain and boring project involving a few patches to networking kit. Regardless, his eyes would light up at the mere memory of it.
So… when a project came along to change the internal IP range in our Taiwan offices due to a clash following an M&A, I knew this was my chance to make my mark. And so, “Saving Private Taiwan” was created.
While a relatively simple project, we hit every single milestone on schedule, had an absolute blast doing so and would end up obtaining sponsor project completion sign-off one week early. The biggest success was the relationship building I was able to provide the foundation for between our head offices in Durban and the sister company I was representing in London & Ipswich, United Kingdom.
